Sponsorship is an excellent way to showcase a company and its underlying values.
Within Yorkshire’s rich and varied landscape, sits the little-known village of Rowley. It is a wonderful expression of English heritage. The croquet club nestles in the grounds of Rowley Manor. This is not to suggest it is as grand as the Manor – quite the opposite – the club has two sheds to its name; one serves as an equipment store, the other as the club room. The facilities are very basic: no running water and no electricity, but the aesthetic of the game is what makes the connection work. Croquet is more than just a physical game when played at Rowley.
Why are we telling you this? We want to convey that we have something special. And if you work with us in partnership – become a sponsor – we will give you a day of croquet at Rowley. This would include instruction on how to play the game, afternoon tea, use of equipment – mallets, balls and hoops. There are five lawns, free parking space and when the sun is out, there is no better place to be. Sponsorship is an excellent way to showcase a company and its underlying values.
We serve the geographical area of East Riding and members are fairly well spread. We have club days that run throughout the week and at the weekend. Some of our members are retirees; we have two U3A groups (University of The Third Age) that use the facility on certain days. Croquet can be a gentle exercise or as challenging as you want to make it. We have two teams that compete in the Yorkshire Federation League. Gentle or otherwise it has a positive impact on health. It brings people together socially. It engages the mind and when you’ve had a busy or stressful day, it is a great way to unwind; when you play croquet all you’re thinking about is your next move.
