Despite a rather small number of entrants, the Short Lawn Competitions were held at Springhead on Wednesday, July 22 nd. The day proved to be successful, with some close matches and skilful croquet being played.
In the Short Lawn Cup, for low handicap players, Graham King was the clear winner, being the only player to win all four of his games with the maximum possible score of 56 points.
In the Short Lawn Bowl, for high handicap players, Stephen Killick was able to defend his title by winning three of his games and taking the Bowl for the third year in succession.
The trophies were presented by Rosemary Swift who also served light refreshments at the morning and afternoon breaks.
