Beverley and East Riding Croquet Club has moved to Springhead in Hull, just outside of Willerby. It occupies what was two bowling greens and a purpose made pavilion. The bowlers no longer use the greens and they are now set up for croquet. The area is treescaped and has a low metal boundary fence which is useful for keeping dogs out.
There is a cafe on site, which serve very good, home-made food at a reasonable price.
Springhead is different to Rowley (our previous site) in that it is not tucked away in some leafy dell, but it is both restful and beautiful and, the natives are very friendly. We feel very lucky to be here.

The club afternoons remain the same, so that is Mondays and Tuesday afternoons, and Saturday mornings. Members can also book a lawn and play with friends outside of club days. There is an online booking system. It is always wise to check the availability of the lawns outside of club sessions because the lawns are mowed and white-lined twice a week.
Hoops, balls, and mallets are provided.
The season runs from April to October and it is quite possible that we may play throughout the winter months – weather and lawn condition permitting.
We have two teams that play in the Yorkshire League, so if you are interested in competitive play this could be something you get involved in. We also have internal competition for trophies that are the legacy of past players of the club. It is a lovely opportunity for members to come together in a friendly competitive way.
We have coaches who can offer 6-week induction courses; 4-week improvement courses.
The club also has a Social Secretary, who organises a variety of social events throughout the year.
